We are & have been acquainted with one G W. Dunn now confinded in the state prison for some offence (we understand) commited at Louisville Ky we know nothing of the charge or offince. But we know that said Dunn has always been regarded as an honest peacible citizen was & is now or at the time of the offence a soldier of the 34^th reg^t of Ky Vols If he be guilty of said offence he certainly was superinduced by bad men who had controle of him He as a poor man has a wife and two little children

We now wish respectfully & earnestly for you to extend him pardon
