To the Exelence of the Govenor of the Commonwealth of Kentucky your petitioner Sollomon Cox wold Respectifuly Represent to your Excellencey that at the august Terme of the Whitley Circuit Court that the grand Jury of Whitley County found a true bill against him for selling brandy as a distiller by the Quarte your petitioner states that he believed that he had the Right to sell and let it be drunk wheare sold if taken off of the prims of your petitioner he states that he did thus sell and that in good faith he beleived at the time of the sail he had a right to do and that he the petitioner had no notion of violating the law at the time he maid the sail he states that when he found he had violated the law that he come in to court at this present March tirm and pled gilty and submited the laws and facts to the court and the court Renderd Judgment for twenty dollars against your petitioner Your petitioner askes that he be Released from the Judgment as he had no thought of violating the law and acted in good fait your petitioner prayes that your Exceilence Remit the fine and for all proper Releaf
