Gov Bramlette

The Undersigned would represent to your Excellency that at the Augt Term 1859 of the Fayette Circuit Court Dudly Kent was fined $250 for Keeping a disorderly house and the undersigned was induced to become his surity on the Replevin bond for the debt — Kent paid the Costs of the judgment and the part coming to the Attorney for the Com'th and procured from B. Magoffin then Governor of the state a respite of the debt for 12 months which respite is dated on the 26^th day of Oct 1859 and is on file in the records of the Court here — In the year 1859 Kent left the Country & has not been heard of since & is supposed to be dead, Your Petitioner Supposed that the entire debt had been remitted, but the sheriff recently informed him that he had an execution against Petitioner — for $175 & int —

Your Petitioner is a poor man and it would almost break him up to pay this debt

He agreed to go on his bond, to save him from prison, Kent was a young man who had no fam
ily — and who had borne a good reputation until a short time before this indictment

Your Petitioner begs that your Excellency will remit him the amount of the fine —
