To his Excellency the Governor of the Commonwealth of Kentucky

The undersigned petitioner states that at the March Term 1864 of the Laurel Circuit Court, a Judgment was rendered against him for twenty dollars for Retaling Liquors — He states that he is a very poor man and has a family who are dependant upon his labor for a support that he has been verry unfortunate since the commencement of the rebellion having been robbed, by the rebels of all his property not even sparing his and his family clothing nearly all of which was taken that he is unable to pay the fine without subjecting himself and family to hardship, and great inconveinence

He therefore prays your Excillency to remit said fine
