To Governor Bramlette

Your petitioner John Schroeder respectfully states that he is only 15 years and two months old. He states that he was found guilty on the 14^th instant in the Jefferson Circuit Court of the charge of maliciously stabbing Andrew Doran on the 3^rd Sept last. He was indicted tried and found guilty with his father David Schroeder. He states that he was present and witnessed the difficulty that took place at the time, between Doran and his father but that he your petitioner took no part in the difficulty. The jury found his father guilty and said that he should be confined in the penetentiary for two years and your petitioner one, but the ^Jury^ recommended your petitioner to the clemency of your Excellency. He makes an attested copy of the verdict part hereof. He prays your Excellency to pardon him and he will ever pray &c.
