Lucian B. Wrigt of said county being duly sworn saith that he is a Painter by trade & that he has been acquainted for some ten years past with Silas L. Greenman at the City of Chicago in said county and that the said Greenman was in the employ of said G Deponent for two years & upwards.

And Deponent further saith that during all the time that he has Known said Greenman he has sustained a most excellent character. that he has always been sober industrious & honest, always attentive to business and without exception exemplary in his deportment & habits,. and this Deponent further saith ~~Sworn before me this 21st~~ that the said Silas L. Greenman has wholly maintained his mother who is entirely dependant upon him for her support & that while he was in the employ of the Deponent, his wages were by this Deponent paid over to his (said Greenmans) mother) who is a woman in very feeble health & unable to support herself, or engage in any laborious occupation —
