To His Excellency Tho^s. E. Bramblett Govenor of Ky.

The undersigned Citizens of Bath County would represent That at the December Term 1863 of the Bath Circuit Court. C. W. Honaker was fined $20. for selling spiritous liquor to George Trumbo a Minor, that the offense is alledged to have been committed between 1^st June (the time when the act took effect) and the 1^st of September, when the character of the act was known to but few. That said Trumbo has the appearance of being 21 years of age and That we are satisfied said Honaker did not know of the existence of said act at the time nor did he know but Trumbo was of age and that he did not intend to violate the said statute. and as an evidence of the clemency of the Com^th Attorney who was familiar with the facts, he permitted Honaker to confess Judgement as aforesaid. (and signed the petition for a remission)

The above is substantially the contents of a petition signed by about 25. of the best Citizens ^of this vicinity^ which I sent you by Hon. A. Trumbo and which I understand has been lost or mislaid. Mr Watkins informs me that you wished a statement of the facts which is now given as above.
