Dear Govenor sometime Since the grand Jury of This (Rockcastle County) found an Indictment against each of us for gameing at cards; and at the Last Term of the Circuit Court we entered the plea of guilty and Judgment went against us Seperate for $30, We were all in the same game and say to you on the honor of Gentlemen that the game was not for proffit neither from any disposition to violate Law but for mere past time to pass of dull hours.. And as times are hard we appeal to you for releif hopeing that you will extend your clemency remit the fine against us And we will do so no more
