Dear Sir,

Having been notified by the Sherriff of Clarke Co (S. G. Stuart) that he had likewise been notified by the judge of this Circuit, that all persons of indebtedness to the court should be prepared to make payment of their indebtedness by the 4th Monday in this mo. I being security upon my brothers bond deposited in your office for the sum of $29.33. a debt for his confession before the court for gambling in Oct 1862. And which was respited by ex Govenor Beriah M^cGoffin. I desired to call your attention to it for the purpose if possible of getting it remitted by our present Govenor James Bramlette through your influence

I had thought it was remitted long ago But find it was merely respited

I am satisfied my brother, beleives it to have been abolished.

By your kind attention to this favor you would greatly oblige me

In this case

In this case Judgment was rendered against Nathaniel Turner for $20.⁰⁰ for unlawful gaming. The Judgment was replevied by Ben F Turner security, was respited, the respite expired & Execution is now in the hands of the Sheriff of Clark.

The same merit attaches to this cases, which ~~does~~ does to all similar cases of a clever young man having to pay for his thoughtless disregard of law.
