Pleas before the Hon W C Goodloe Judge of the Scott Circuit Court at the Court House in Georgetown on the 17 Novr 1863

Be it remembered that on the 19^th day of May 1863 the plaintiff by her attorney filed in the clerks office of the Scott Circuit Court the following Indictment

The Grand Jury of Scott County in the name and by the authority of the commonwealth of Kentucky accuse James Powell jr of the crime of Robbery committed as follows viz The said James Powell jr on the 18^th day of May 1863 in the county aforesaid feloniously took one Bay mare the property of Milton Penn from the person and in the possession of Loratius Penn a son of said Milton Penn and against his will by putting him in fear of an immediate injury to his person, against the peace and dignity of the commonwealth of Kentucky

And on another day of the court towit 21^st May 1863 in court the following order was made

Ordered that this cause be sentenced & the defendant allowed bail in the sum of two hundred dollars.

And on another day to wit the 25^th May 1863 in court the following order was made

This day personally appeared in open court R Thomas Powell and acknowledged himself bound to the Commonwealth of Kentucky in the sum of Two hundred dollars to be void however if James Powell jr shall appear in this court on the first day of its Next November term to answer the indictment for Robbery found in said court against him and shall not depart without of leave of the court

And on another day towit the 17 November 1863 in court the followin order was made.

The defendant failing to appear in pursuance of his Recognizance It is ordered that the same be forfeited and that a summons issue thereon
against R Thomas Powell to appear & show cause why judgment should not be rendered against him for two hundred dollars for the forfeiture of said bail

And on another day towit 16 day of May 1864 in court the following judgment was rendered herein

The defendant having been duly summoned & failing to appear & the court being advised It is ordered and adjudged that the plaintiff recover of the defendant the sum of Two hundred dollars the amount specified in the Bail Bond also recover her costs herein expended.
