To his Excellency, Tho^s E Bramlette,
Governor of the Commonwealth of Kentucky

Your petitioner Daniel Duggins would respectfully represent, That at the February term 1860 of the Garrard Circuit Court he was Indicted, for carrying a concealed deadly Weapon. — That he attended at several Terms of said Court, ready and fully prepared to prove that he was justifiable in carrying said weapon (his life having been threatened upon sight) that from some cause the attorney for the Com^th paid no attention to the matter, for several termes of said Court, so that your petitioner. thought and believed that the case had been dismissed, — and lost sight of it. That at the February term 1864 the case was called and a judgment for Fifty dollars rendered agt him, — Now your petitioner is a poor man, with a large family none of whom are able to aid him in makeing a living for himself & family. Which taken with the fact that tworespectablefarmers of the county are now and have been allways ready & willing to swear befor acourt of Justice that they heard a citizen, say in a threatening manner that he intended to kill your petitioner upon sight, justifies your petitioner and the various citizens, and neighbors. to in asking your Excellency to remit said, fine. July 25^th 1864
