Gov of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

I sent you some weeks since a copy of a warrant and a verdict of a Jury finding G. W. Alford guilty of the offense of selling liquor to a slave without an order, assessing his fine at $50.⁰⁰/₁₀₀ together with a petition from the same Jury to your honor to remit said fine. I have never heard one word from you. Perhaps you never recieved the petition If not please write me or if you did write me what was your action in the case. Please write immediately
