Govenor Bramblett we as citesons of Muhlenberg county sent your Excelency a petition Praying you to remite a finde asesed against James, H, Craig of fifty dollars for improper conduct to A maried Lady now the charge and the evidence was that the said Craig took her by the hand and held her hand rather longer than she thought he shood have done she told Craigs Father and three other nieghbors that Craig [t] give her no insult wa what ever this conversation ^took place^ in the spring of 63, before the inditement was found against Craig the Jury asesed the find against Craig 4 the day of last Mays circuit court We as citisons of
muhlenberg Pray you remit the find that stands against Craig, in the Petition that we sent your Excelency last spring thar was sixty nine men of muhlenberg County Put thar names to the Petition we beleive it to be a malishios thing from first to last Part of the Jury that asesed the find against Craig put thar names to the Petition we cood give further particulars but we deeme it ~~unn~~ unesary we want to hear from your Exelency direct your anser to G, R Craig We Remain yours as Ever the citisons of muhlenberg county to Govenor Bramblett
