The undersigned would represent that at the August term 1864 of the montgomery circuit court he was fined $50 & costs for selling liquor to a minor — The undersigned now is & at the time of the selling of the liquor to the minor was a regular licensed tavern keeper in mt sterling authorized to vend liquors by retail The minor to whom the liquor was sold was Howard Barnes who is man grown & looked to be twenty one years of age — but as it appears was actually under that age. but he did not know it & if he had known it would not have sold the liquor to him. Sept 24^th 1864
