The Commonwealth of Kentucky
against } March Term 1864
William Hunt

The Grandjury of Christian County in the name and by the authority of the Commonwealth of Kentucky accuse William Hunt of the offense of keeping a Gameing house, Committed as follows -- viz --

The said William Hunt on the 10^th day of January 1864 and on divers other days and times in the County aforesaid; did willfully and knowingly suffer games of Cards, and games with divers other gaming implements, to be played in a house in his occupation and under his Control, at which said games, money & other things of value were won and lost -- and against the peace and dignity of the Commonwealth of Kentucky

Upon which Indictment the following action was taken by the Court --

Tuesday Sept. 20^th. 1864

The Commonwealth of Kentucky
vs } an Indictment for Keeping a Gaming house

The Commonwealth attorney came and the
Deft. also, and by mutual Consent this cause is now taken up for trial, and deft says he doth not deny the allegations made against him in the Indictment -- but says he is guilty as charged, whereupon by consent of parties the following Jury were sworn to assess the fine -- To wit -- J. E. Summers, O. S. Brown, W. P Hopkins, W. W. Boyd Jn^o. Carr, C.T. Lewis, James Witty, A. Palmer, J. R. Brown, & G.W Graves, and being instructed by the Court returned the following Verdict-Towit -- "We of the Jury fine the Defendant Two Hundred Dollars &c W. P. Hopkins one of the Jury" -- Whereupon it is considered by the Court that the Commonwealth of Kentucky recover of the Defendant Two Hundred Dollars the amount of the fine for his offense=and also the Costs of this prosecution --
