To his exelence thomas Bramblet govenor of the commonwealth of Kentucky your petitioner James Cutberth wold Respectible represent to your Excelence that he was indited by the granjury at the March Terme of the Whilley Circuit courte and Judgment Rendered by the courte against him for failing as a tavern Keeper to set up his tavern Rates and Judment was Rendered against him for Seventy five dollars he states that he had no intention of violating the law and that he got out licens to Keepe the tavrn and he sasked after paying the state price if that was all and he was informed that it was all that he had to do and that he in good faith went on and ~~sold~~ faile to put up the Raites and did not know it was Requird of him he say he knowes but litle a bout law and has but litle to do in law maters he says that he is a law abiding citizen and has never gave aid to the Rebelion and that he now has two sones in the servis [~~and the an~~] of the govrnment and the onley ones he has he prays your Excelence to Remite the fine and to set aside the Judgement and for all Proper Releaf
