John Schroeder states on oath that he is a resident of Louisville Ky. that he is personally acquainted with W^m Salzman who ~~was~~ was indicted in the Jefferson Circuit Court. and for whom David Schroeder this affiants father went bail and that about ^the^ 12^th of last May his said father sent him to Nashville Tennesee. to look after said Salzman, he ^said Salzman^ having left Louisville some time previous, And that after making search for several days succeeded in finding him in Nashville Tennwhere he was in the service of the United States being a member of the 12 Regiment of Michigan volunteers. And that he conversed with said Salzman and requested him to come back to Louisville — and deliver himself up to the proper authorities which said Salzman refused to do.
