His Excellency Gov Bramlette
Dear Sir.

I understand -- that Mr Henry Crout has proposed new evidence in the penal cases against him, I was one of the attys-- and hence state that I thought at the time-- as good, true, law-abiding man as Mr Crout-- ought hardly to have been convicted upon the testimony. One Beazley -- was the standing witness that term of the Court-- and swept the city, but we could not then impeach him -- and for that reason Mr Crout-- is compelled to look to you. He is a very
exemplary law abiding Man-- He spent a large Sum-- raised a company-- went up to be sworn in-- (Last Fall) with his company and was thrown out because of slight rupture-- thus losing all his time and several hundred dollars. He is deserving of your clemency
