I have the honor of enclosing to you a petition[er] from Frederick Ampher praying a remission of fines assessed against him at the May Term 1864 of the Campbell Circuit Cour t for selling liquor to minors

Altho. I am well aware of the good policy of the law alleged to be violated yet am satisfied that Ampher is innocent of these charges and if he had have had a fair trial would have proved himself so; This opportunity was denied him under the peculiar circumstances stated in the petition — The jury and the attorney for the Comth you will percieve have
