Govenor of Ky —

The undersigned a citizen of grant county would respectfully solicit at your hands the remission of a fine of Twenty Five Dollars ($25) — imposed against me at the October term of The Grant circuit court, for playing at a game of cards. The inditement was found upon a game which was merely for amusement being played for segars and drinks, which I think is ^not^ sufficient to be considered a violation of the Law — Your [...] clemency in this matter, to the extent of the Law, will be greatly appreciated, and will ever pray &c —
