To His excelency Thos E Bramlett Govr of Ky, sir the petition of one John Wright who was fined $50. before J W Stewart a Justice of the peace for Trimble county. for carying consealed a deadly weapon. will be presented to your Excelency praying a remission of sd fine, the facts in the case did not come before the Jury as he confessed Judgment, the facts are that sd Wright did on Sunday the 6^t of March 1865 Shoot & kill without caus or provocation a valuble dog, near to and vary much endangering the lives of Several little boys. if such cases are remitted by your Excelency, there is no incouragement to courts of Justice enforcing the law. I hope you will not remit sd fine in view of the above facts. I will refer you to Judge D S Lane & A J Bartlett ^Co atty^ as to the facts of my statement above
