You^r Petitioner W^m Rawling would respectfully ~~would~~ represent to your Excellency That in May 1858. he was indicted by the Grand Jury of Washington County Ky charged "with shooting at one W^m Myer^s with intent to kill. without wounding." and at August Term 1858, of the Washington Circuit Court a verdict on the trial was reReturned by a Jury sworn to try the case. imposing a fine on this Petitioner ~~Defendant~~ of one hundred and. thirty nine dollar^s and imprisonment in the County Jail for six month^s — now. your petitioner would state, that he wa^s not in Court present when the Jury returned their verdict or when Judgment of the Court wa^s pronounced, and has been most of the time since absent from tThis state — He further states that at the time said offense is charged to have been committed he wa^s young and inexperienced=He states that there were many ~~the~~ paliating circumstances connected with the transaction which he believes would have very materially changed the verdict If he could have proved the whole transaction on. the trial — Your petitioner would state that he is now a married man with family of children — He ask^s that your excellency with your executive power. will releive him from the Judgment so far a^s it is for imprisonment and remit the fine — an enforcement of s^d Judgment would be extremely oppressive on your petitioner and ruinou^s and blighting to the prospect of
himself & family, Wherefore he again ask^s the exercise of Your Exellency^s clemency —
