To His excellency the Govenor of Kentucky your petitioner Jessee Braughton would respectfuly represent to your excellancy that at the March Term of the Whitley Circuit Court that there was a Judgement rendered against him for $20,00 as a distiller for Selling Spirits by the Quart and Suffering it drank on the premises where Sold he Says that he brought Some Spirits from home and Sold it at or near Williamsburg where Some was drank and that he in good faith believed he had the right to Sell and let it be drank at or near the place of Sale if not Sold where made he Says that he had no intention of violating the Law but as Soon as he found out ~~that~~ he was violating the Law that he Stoped Selling and Sold no more he Says that he is a poor man and has not the means to pay the Judgement and do Justice to the remainder of his family wherefore he prays you excellancy to Set a side the Judgement and remit the fine and for all proper releif
