On the [ ] of June 1865 I was upon a confessed judgment fined five Hundred dollars for dealing a game of "Faro" in the city of Louisville. I am really unable to pay the whole sum and my desire is that you will remit me that portion which goes to the Commonwealth. I appeal solely to your Executive clemency.
