The undersigned Jurors who tried Cornelius Gatliffe at the present term of the Madison Cirucit Court, charged with shooting S. M. Graves, with intent to Kill, unite in requesting the Governor of Kentucky to pardon the defendant Gatliffe — He was proved before them to be a man of good character, and as a brave soldier of the 7^t Ky. Regiments who had served three years in the United States Army particularly in the Battles around Vixburgh under Grant — Sept 12. 1865

I was a Juror who tried Gatliffe and did not think he aght to have been convicted from the facts but through the instructions of the Judge made it my duty to sign the verdict & I reluctantly yielded to it
