Your petitioner, Joseph Croxton would most Respectfully Represent to your Exelency that on the [ ] day of September 1865 he was fined five Hundred dollars in the City Court of Louisville Ky for dealing a gameofFaro which fine he is unable to pay with-out Entailing on Him-self and Family great pecuniary Embarisment — He Having paid $222.⁴⁰/₁₀₀ cost — in the case your petitioner Hopes your Exelency will Regard that as a sufficient punishment for the offence and therefore most Respectfully asks your Exelency to Remit that portion of the fine that comes to the commonwealth —
