Dont think it retarded Driscoll much was by Deering after his oust Heard nothing said to Deering nor any thing said by him to M^r Reed, I was standing in the crowd at the time the row came up there was some talking when Deering got away four or five steps he drew his pistol when the shots were fired, I was twenty feet off Heard no words passed, I was standing back of Driscoll He was before me, was not looking for any difficulty. — I was not excited at the time might have a been a little excited cant state postively not more than six feet seperated parties at time of shooting. so Mr Reed the croud was quiet at the time the difficulty commenced rather unusually so for a time like that
