To His Excellency Thos. E. Bramlette
Govnor of Kentucky:

The undersigned, your petitioner, would respectfully state, that he is a resident of Marion County Ky. and is the father of Coleman Wilson who stands indicted in the Marion Circuit Court of two offences, viz: At the June Term of the Marion Circuit Court June 9^" 1865 he ^with others^ was charged "with having feloniously stolen & carried away two mules Each of the value of one hundred & fifty Dollars the personal property of W. P. Bacon," And at the February Term 1866 of the Marion Circuit Court he was indicted under the charge that he "did feloniously steal ~~[...]~~ take and carry away one horse least of the value of one hundred Dollars the property of J. C. Raney against the peace and dignity of the Commonwlth of Ky. & further accuse him of feloniously receiving stolen property on the 1^st day of November 1865 in that he did [...] one horse [least] of the value of one hundred Dollars the property of J. C. Raney before then stolen and carried away, which the said Wilson knew it had been stolen,"

Your petition would respectfully represent that he firmly believes that his
over
son Coleman Wilson is not guilty of Either of the crimes charged upon him & That Rob^t Land was tried under the first indictment, at which trial the jury failed to agree, and for which alleged crime your Excellency pardoned the said Land. He would further state that his son had attended court for the purpose of standing his trial under each of these Indictments, until he compelled his son to leave the country in order to save the life of his son and the property of the petitioner which he verily believed to be in danger from an organization known as "Judge Lynch," That his son consented to leave only at the urgent solicitations of the petitioner and his wife, & that your petitioner verily believes that his son's life would be in danger were he to retrun to Marion County for the purpose of attending his trial now Wherefore your petitioner respectfully prays Executive Clemency in behalf of his son in the two indictments mentioned.
