Dear Sir:

One John Sanders at the Special May Term 1863 of this court was indicted by the Grand Jury of this county for Shooting one Joshua Ellis, -- said Indict,, is for "murder" --

John Sanders is at large -- and as I understand is in the state of Indiana, The Shff of Switzerland Co in that state wrote me @ few days ago, inquiring about the Reward for his apprehension, stating that if the Reward was good and certain, that he would have the said Sanders forthcoming, I lay the matter before you, leaving you to act as you see proper.

I hope you will issue a proclamation offering a reward for the arrest of John Saunders. The murder was unprovoked & diabolical -- & the murderer is now at large in Indiana. Please prepare the papers & direct them to me at Warsaw, where I shall probably remain 2 weeks.
