Herewith I send you a copy of an indictment found in our court against Henry Holt — He has fled from this state and is in the state of Ill as I am informed and believe — It is desired by parties here who wish to have him brought to justice to obtain from you upon the Gov^r of Ill a Requisition for the fugitive & I write this in view of such proceeding

I would suggest as a proper person to act as the agent of this state in the behalf M Cook Esqr who is City Marshal of this place
and who will I have no doubt be efficient and diligent in the discharge of Such duty —
