Whereas, less than one year of the Term of Samuel G Stuart as Sheriff of Clark County Kentucky, remained unexpired at the time of his resignation of Said Office on Tuesday the 5^th day of July 1864,, on which date Said resignation was accepted, and the office of Sheriff of Said county declared Vacant by the order of this court then made,

And the court having in accordance with the order of adjournment convened on this day to fill Said Vacancy, and being advised, It is ordered that Jesse T Williams be appointed Sheriff of Clark county in place of, and for the unexpired term of Said Samuel G Stuart resigned,

And the same is ordered to be certified to his Excellency the Governor of this Commonwealth
