The Governor of the State of Kentucky.
Sir

The undersigned, who has been for many years exercising the Profession of a Notary Public, for the Parish and City of New Orleans State of Louisiana, would respectfully ask of your Excellency an appointment as Commissioner, to take the acknowledgement of Deeds &c for your State, in this State.

I am wholly devoted to my Profession of Notary Public and Conveyances, and have been so for many years; I occupy a prominent position as such in New Orleans, and am desirous of holding Commissions, from all the States of our Union

I respectfully refer to the honorable Michael Hahn, of this State, through whose kindness I foward this application; he has had intimate knowledge of me in my Profession for the last Fifteen years; With his good offices, I trust in due time to be in receipt of your Excellencys Commission
