Dear sir,

I beg to make application for a renewal of my appointment as Commissioner of Deeds for the State of Kentucky, resident in Charleston South Carolina, and to supply the vacancy occasioned by recent death of Mr Samuel J. Hull former Commissioner in this City — and would state that I am a loyal citizen of the United States and hold Commissions from many of the other States. I am (and have been for the past 12 years), a practising member of the Charleston Bar, and the appointment being one much needed in my profession, if renewed, its duties will be discharged with every care and ability.
