Dear Sir,

Enclosed herewith, I send you my oath of office, as, Commissioner of Deeds in this city for the Commonwealth of Kentucky, together with the State tax of Five Dollars as mentioned in yours of the 15^th inst.

A severe attack of sickness has prevented my replying to you before.

Please present my thanks to His Excellency, Gov. Magoffin, for the renewal of my Commission, and believe me to be,

Bushnell, residing in the City, County, and State aforesiad, appointed by the Governor of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, a Commissioner in the said state of New=York, to administer oaths and affirmations, and to take depositions, affidavits and the acknowledgment and proof of deeds &^c to be used or recorded in the said Commonwealth of Kentucky, do solemnly swear "well and truly to execute and perform all the duties of said commissioner."
