To the Governor of the State of Kentucky:
Sir:

I seize the earliest moment afforded me by the reestablishment of mail communication between this City and the West, to solicit from you a renewal of my commission as a Commissioner of the State of Kentucky for the State of Louisiana.

My last commission expired on the 10^th March last.

I may remark in closing that during the reign of terror which prevailed here for the ten or twelve months prior to the capture of the City, I have never wavered
in my Loyalty to the Union.
