Sir I in obedience to your proclimation I collected some forty two or three of the muskets ^in this Co^ blonging to the State of Ky & placed them in one of the rooms of the Court House which was pronounced Safe by the County atty

But last night the Lock was Broke ~~open~~ & the Bayonetts & locks taken off the Gunss they now lay in the room a worthless pile

By yesterdays mail one of the So called Union men received a letter for our Representative John S Vanwinkle Stating war was Inevitable on the reception of this letter in the Evening there was great Caucusing among the Union Shriekers which was transferd to the Masonic Hall and continued late Say after Midnight in the mien time one of the Officers of Camp Robinson arrived here He Says about nine Oclock (I Know that it was later) & this morning the Guns is found in the Condition above described I know as well as I Know anything I did not see they Stole the Locks & Bayonetts last night
