This will be handed you by Mrs Scott of this city who will call to see you to ask a pardon for her son Charles Hawkins who is confined in the Penatentiary; sometime about the last of March she caused a Petition to be forwarded to your Excellency with a Number of letters from officers & others here which I presume are on file, I Beg you to hear her appeal & if consistent with your Sense of Duty to grant her request I know it will give you pleasure to do so. Her son has been confined for Some time & she verry much needs his assistance to enable her to live.
