Dear Sir

Judgments in of Commonwealth vs J. Marcum for $500. rendered in the Wayne Circuit Court at [ ] Term 1859, upon forfeited bail bond ought I think to be remitted, Marcum followed Beeler (the principal) to Lebenon where he (Beeler) was accidentally Killed otherwise he would have been brought back & tried, Marcum is a poor man industrious & honest, the fine if not remitted will utterly destroy him, this is the Case to which I called your attention when at Frankfort, last,

Comth vs J Webb & others Russell ct ct fine $300 breach of tavern bond --
in this case Webb was more sinned against than sining, his wife was the really guilty person & afterwards left Webb & sued him for divorce -- Considering the prospects of Webbs family & the circumstances of Commission I would respectfully suggest some action in his behalf &^c

Comth vs [Fergasun's] Clinton petition will be forwarded as I understand, Permit me to say two worse men dont live in the 6^th Judicel District. They are outlaws of the worst character -- &^c

Your reply to Hale meets with universal faver in this country I think Hale rather,, piled up the agony,, and might have had an intimation to that effect
without a breach of hospitality I regard your suggestion of a convention of the Southern States as ~~highly~~ very appropriate, and well Considered, I cannot refrain from Congratulating you for the whole tenor of the letter, I regard it as a great success, and only ~~regret~~ wish we had more such Governors
