To his Excellency B MaGoffin Governor of the Commonwealth of Kentucky
Your Petitioner Silas Bishop would most Respectfully state

That on the 3^rd day of May 1860 in the Police Court of Harrodsburg he was fined $60 for selling liquor to Minors

That he was acting as Barr Keeper or assistant for C H B Duncan only temporarily at the time & had no interest in the Bar & if he did violate the Law he was not aware of it at the time & certainly had not wish or desire to violate the Law in so doing & made no profit thereby

That he is a man in very limited circumstances & is not able to bear so heavy a burden without injury to himself & family That he has induced a friend to become his security in a replevin bond for said fine & costs That his friend is likewise in very indigent Circumstances & cannot without injury ^able^ pay ~~the~~ the same That an Execution has issued on said Bond & is now in an officers hands

He would also state That on the same day viz on the 3^rd May 1860 he was in the same court fined Ten Dollars by for a breach of the peace under the following circumstances A Difficulty arose between him & one John Reynolds who was makeing a disturbance in the Bar
Room and in an effort to Keep the peace & Keep good order he was compelled to whip the said Reynolds who out of mere spite had him arrested & Knowing that Reynolds would swear so as to have a judgment rendered against him Your Petitioner thought it but to confess Judgment

He think he was wholly justified in thus acting [...]

Your petitioner is a peaceable quiet man & does not desire to violate the Laws of Society & good Laws

He therefore most respectfully asks a Remissione of said Fine
