This day came the attorney for the commonwealth and the Defendant by his Attorney plead not Guilty and thereupon came the following Jury towit Harden Perkins, Cyrus Shobe, John Tegert, Easton Claypool W J Hobson Joseph Hagerman H P Barnes, A S Marrs Noel Sweeney W^m E Floyd Frederick Potter & John Garrison who were elected tried and sworn to well and truly to try the issue and who having heard the evidence &C. Returned the following verdict towit= "We of the Jury find the within named John W Valentine Guilty of the offense as charged in the within Indictment and assess his fine at Fifty Dollars. Hardin Perkins Foreman" It is therefore adjudged by the court that the Defendant John W Valentine make his fine to the Commonwealth by the payment of Fifty Dollars and the Costs herein and May be taken &C.
