To the Gov of the Commonwealth of Kentucky

Your Petitioner Edward Fuget states that he was Indited at the April Term of the Pendelton Circuit Court for keeping a tippling house & at the Oct term of sd Court 1860 he was fined the sum of $60 upon the evidence of one D C Fugerson who swore that he had bough whiskey from the wife of your petitioner on two difrent accasions by the small & that he paid his sd wife for sd whiskey & that he drunk the same upon the primises of your petitioner he states that he is an old man & a Criple that for sevral years he has keep some whiskey for himsef but not for the purpus of selling that on account of his age & Condishen he had became invalued in debt & his small farm had been sold under Execution & the sd Fergerson had become the purchaser of the same & in order to git him off of his place
& that Fergerson Could Git the same for a trifle he went to the house of deft when he was not at home asked for a Drink of Licker far himself & friend & the wife of your Petitioner set out the whiskey to him & Refused to take Any pay for the same but told him he was welcom to what they drinked but he Insisted on paying for the same & did Leave the money with her & don the same thing as he was Returning home & then went before the grand Jury & gave infirmation & he was fined for sd offence he states that he has not a daugh but that the whole ofare was for the purpas of one stated he states that it has always been his object to obay the Laws of his state & he thinks that where there was but 20 cents werth sold & that was sold as above stated that it is hard for him to have to
pay the full amount of ~~fifty~~ sixty Dollars & Cost of suit he prays that your Exelency will take his case under consideration & that you will Remit the same fees & cost Excepted as
