Dear Sir

We enclose you two petitions, one for the release of Chas Green, & other for Wm J Johnson, from the payment of two Seperate Judgements rendered by our Court against them for $200 & costs,

We know that a fair representation is always expected in favour of a petitioner from the release of a fine, many of which are much exagerated & often false,

We on this occasion pledge you our personal honour, that the facts Set forth in the petitions are, and that each of the
petitioners are quite orderly, and well behaved citizens of good character, We further more Say that we verily believe that both violations of the law were committed ignorantly.

We would respectfully suggest that that the Comth'^s atty's commission, $60, in each case & costs is a pretty severe penalty when we take into consideration the present distracted condition of the country,

In view of the premises we respectfully ask that you will remit the two fines, and trust that it may be consistent with your feelings to do so.
