Dear Sir

I have joined in the petition of B Armstrong to have your Excellency remit the judgment of $400 — vs him in the Caldwell Circuit Court upon a bail bond for his son who has deceived his Old father disgraced himself and family and left the country- I have known the old man for years- And know him to be an honest good reliable citizen; and I fully Endorse the statements of Mr. Head and his neighbors- I can assure you that his is certainly one of those cases in which Executive clemency should interpose — without it he is ruined. And will go down to the grave not only filled with sorrow and grief, but in want if he does not find in your Excellency that relief which I trust he will receive. Do grant him this favor- And he will Ever remember you Kindly- and thankfully and your action in the promises will be appreciated by a host of friends
