To your excelency Govenor of Ky — We the undersigned petition your excelency to remit a find against Harison Trisler & Henry Trisler for rioting at the May election ^assessed by a Jury before Geo. T. Nave Esq a Justice of the Peace for Jessamine Co.^ — The Jury assessed their find at $17 — each — Making $34 — in all which we the petitioners think unreasonable and ^under the circumstances^ unjust — and ask you to do them the kindness to remit the same as they are both poor ^hard working & industrious young men — the latter with a family — ^ and not able to pay it — these hard times —

The undersigned the Justice of the Peace in & for the County of Jessamine who Presided at the trial for the assessement of the fine by a Jury named in the within Petition against Henry & Harrison Trisler for $17.⁰⁰ each for rioting- states that he regard the amount of the fines exorbitant= & from subsequent evidences & Circumstances developed bearing on the case, he thinks said fines should be remitted in Justice of ^to^ the Parties — & he would therefore advise and recommend it, Aug 13. 1861. —

I am personally acquainted with the subcribers or Petitioners signed to the within Petition — & I know they are all resident citizens of the Neighborhood in which the Rioting occurred & the fines were assessed — & the Petitioners are entitled to full faith and credit — Augt 13. 1861. —
