To his Excellency Gov Magoffin Gov of Ky.

Your Petitioner would humbly represent that he has been fined the sum of Fifty dollars at the present term of the Franklin Circuit Court for selling to ^a^ Minor spiritous Liquors —

Your Petitioner would represent that he knew of no such law forbidding ^him^ to sell to Minors — that he was duly licenced to sell Liquors — that the Minor had been doing business for him self and that he had always regarded him as of Age — also from his personal appearance anyone would regard him as a full man in age as well as development —

Your Petitioner would further represent that he is a poor man with a large family of children and could not pay said fine without great sacrifices
