B. Magoffin.

The Undersigned Citizens of Bath, would respectfully represent, That at the March Term 1862. of the Bath Circuit Court, a fine was recovered against Tho^s R. Hill for $34,^xx for standing a Jack without a License.

We further represent that said Hill is a good citizen and had no purpose of violating the law, beleiving that he had a right to procure the license at any time before the end of the year and actually did apply to the Clerk for the License but too late to be avilable — March 20^th 1862

This is all right. M^r Hill is one of the best Citizens and would not attempt to Evade the law. he was under the impression that if he got a license any time during the Year it would be all right.
