Your Petitioner Michiel Farrel would respectfully state that he was tried in the Jefferson Circuit Court on an indictment for malicious stabing, & that the Jury recomended your petitioner to your Excellency's Clemency. See copy of the verdict,

Your petitioner states in all honesty that he had no malice when he stabed his adversary, that what he did he conceived to be his duty, & that he did it to save himself from great bodily harm.

Your petitioner has a wife & children & they are dependent sorely upon him for a surport, & he asks your Excellency to grant him a pardon

We of the jury find the Defendant quilty as charged in the within indictment and say he shall be confined in the Jail or penetentiary for one year. But recommend him to Executive Clemency
