My Dear Sir

There is confined in the penitentiary James Sebree who is imprisoned for killing — W^m Gerill in Boon co He was sentenced to imprisonment for five years — I have been informed that the court — [Bar] & all the jury have petitond for his release — I understand that he commited the act when he was very drunk — that he is at best a very [silly] man — Mr. Perry McNeely of Boone county was the constable that arrested him & he informs me that Sebree was drunk when he committed the offence — I know McNeely and reson him a reliable gentleman — He will call your attention to the case — from all I [learn] I think this man ought to be pardoned And respectfully call your attention to its and ~~Join~~ & Join its Petitione, in a recommendation for his pardon
