Dear Friend I have just received a line from home the Devils are committing all kinds of devilment — I leave on the 3 oclock train — I leave all the papers with you for God and our countries sake get from the Governor authority for me to raise men to expell these fiends from our land we are forty miles from any Union troops — I can rais sufficient men to exterminate these theives and trators do any thing get a commission to rais a regiment a brigade a company any authority to rais even a Company either as State Guardsnine months men — any kind of araisso I can act,if the Governor does not do it we are lost — as I told you a price is set on my head — they may get it I would rather live but am not a fraid to loose my life in this cause but will try to make these hill hound pay for yelping on my trail
