Inclosed you will find a petition of some of the most respectable Citizen of Newport on behalf of C. Redinger who was found guilty, as ^you^ will see therefrom, of the offence of selling Liqour to Minors, M^r Redinger is a poor man and unable to pay his fine, he therefor takes this Method of saving himself from total ruin, which would be the consequence if is compelled to pay the fine, if you will therefor exercise your leniety and remit the commonwealths portion of his fine you
will receive the blessing of a poor man and his familly.

If you will attend this matter soon and let me know the result you will oblige your Exellency,
